We want to take an opportunity to fill you in on some ACCF church family business. The progress on our Ek Road building project is moving forward slowly, but at this point, its completion is cost prohibitive. We have known for some time now that our days at the middle school are numbered. Because of this, our desire has been to find a temporary facility to lease for the next 3-5 years. When we began meeting here 13 years ago, we were a small church body. We aren’t so small anymore and the impact we have on the building itself is significant. This is to say nothing of the parking congestion, the scheduling conflicts and other issues we have had to deal with because of our sheer size. To add to all of this, in late November the school district was informed by Clackamas County that we must find an alternate meeting location by early spring 2010. So what once seemed like an attractive alternative has now become a pressing need.
We are working to secure a building in Wilsonville that will accommodate all of our services throughout the week, as well as allowing us to consolidate our offices, our storage units and The Shed. There is a considerable amount of muscle, sweat, prayer and money that needs to be poured into this project, but we are very excited about the possibilities it holds for our fellowship. We want to share with you both our needs and the opportunities that will be available for anyone who desires to chip in and help with this transition.
Below you will find some examples of the types of laborers we will need, along with a way to get in touch with a coordinator. Some jobs are for a particular skill-set, others will be more suitable for the average Athey Creeker. Please be praying for the Lord’s covering and direction in this exciting new season. Estimated Build-Out Costs
The following is for those of you who are interested in the financial implications of getting a new building ready for use. We are working on leasing a building that has been a high-tech manufacturing facility, so there are some expensive but necessary changes we will be making in order for the building to suit our needs. With much of our cash flow and savings tied up in finishing the off-site work required for our Ek Road building project (traffic lights, road construction, etc…), there is a significant gap between the funds required for this build-out and what we currently possess.
The total estimated cost associated with our initial move into the new building is $255,520. Much of the work that will be done is necessary for compliance with Clackamas County occupancy requirements and assembly standards. If you feel led to contribute to this project financially, you can either designate an offering in the tithe basket or you may use one of the envelopes that are provided at the back table.
